Subject:
DIFFICULTIES SETTING THE MID SERVICE REMINDER (SERVICE DUE)

APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS
2010 Mazda3

DESCRIPTION

In order to set the service reminder, or "SERVICE DUE" as it appears in the MID display, the vehicle's clock must first be set. Therefore, vehicles with navigation must first receive signals from GPS satellites in order for the clock to set. This means the vehicle must be parked outside away from tall buildings and trees with an open view to the sky, and nothing blocking the GPS antenna located in the instrument cluster. It takes about two to five minutes for the vehicle to receive a signal once in an open area. Once the time is displayed, the service reminder can be set.
