Fuel Pump Ballast Resistor: Testing and Inspection

FUEL PUMP RESISTOR INSPECTION

Resistance Inspection

CAUTION: If a tester lead is inserted forcefully into a terminal during resistance measurement, the terminal may deform and cause a decrease in the contact pressure between terminals while the connector is connected. When measuring resistance, attach a tapered lead or wire to the tester lead and lightly touch the terminal with the tip.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the fuel pump resister.

3. Verify that the continuity between the fuel pump resister terminal A and B is within the specification.
- If not within the specification, replace the fuel resistor.

Fuel pump resistor continuity
