Torque Specifications

Cylinder head bolts

Measure the length of each cylinder head bolt.
Replace any that exceeds maximum length.





Cylinder head bolt length
Standard 145.2 - 145.8 mm (5.717 - 5.740 inch)
Maximum 146.5 mm (5.768 in)





Tighten the cylinder head bolts in the order shown with the following 5 steps using the SST (49 D032 316).
Tightening torque
Step 1 3 - 11 Nm (30.6 - 112 kgf-cm, 26.6 - 97.3 inch lbs.)
Step 2 13 - 17 Nm (133 - 173 kgf-cm, 116 - 150 inch lbs.)
Step 3 43 - 47 Nm (4.4 - 4.7 kgf-m, 3.1.8 - 34.6 ft. lbs.)
Step 4 88° - 92°
Step 5 88° - 92°

Camshaft bearing caps





Tighten the camshaft cap bolts in the order shown with the following two steps.
Tighten torque
Step 1 5.0 - 9.0 Nm (51.0 - 91.7 kgf-cm, 44.3 - 79.6 inch lbs.)
Step 2 14 - 17 Nm (1.5 - 1.7 kgf-m, 10.4 - 12.5 ft. lbs.)

Water pump





Exhaust manifold





Tighten the exhaust manifold installation nuts in the order shown in the figure.
Tightening torque 43-64 Nm (4.4-6.5 kgf-cm, 32-47 ft. lbs.)

Crankshaft pulley lock bolt

Tighten the crankshaft pulley lock bolt using the following two steps
Tightening torque
Step 1 96 - 104 Nm (9.8 - 10.6 kgf-cm, 70.9 - 76.7 ft. lbs.)
Step 2 87° - 93°

Oil pump





Tighten the oil pump bolts in two steps in the order indicated in the figure.
Tightening torque:
Step 1 8 - 12 Nm (82 - 122 kgf-cm, 71 - 105 inch lbs.)
Step 2 17 - 23 Nm (1.8 - 2.3 kgf-m, 12.6 - 16.9 ft. lbs.)
