Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE

Caution:
- After repairing a malfunction, perform this procedure to verify that the malfunction has been corrected.
- When this procedure is carried out, be sure to drive the vehicle at lawful speed and pay attention to the other vehicles.

1. Connect the SSTs (WDS or equivalent) to the DLC-2.
2. Turn the ignition key to ON (engine OFF).
3. Select the clear code function and clear the DTC.
4. Perform the following DTC inspections to ensure that the DTC has been resolved:

- For P0500
i. Start the engine.
ii. Warm up until the engine coolant temperature is 60°C (140°-) or above.
iii. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions for 16 seconds or more.
- Turbine speed: 1,500 rpm or above
- Gear position: 1GR
- TR switch position: D range
iv. Go to Step 5.

- For P0705
i. Start the engine.
ii. Drive the vehicle in each range (P. R. N. D, S. and L) for 100 seconds or more under the following condition.
- Engine speed (RPM PID): 530 rpm or above
iii. Go to Step 5.

- For P0706
i. Start the engine.
ii. Drive the vehicle in each range (D, S, and L) under the following conditions for 100 seconds.
- Engine speed (RPM PID): 530 RPM or above
- Vehicle speed (VSS PID): 20 km/h (12 mph)
iii. Go to Step 5.

- For P0710
i. Start the engine.
ii. Drive the vehicle under the following condition for 100 seconds or more.
- Vehicle speed (VSS PID): 20 km/h (12 mph)
iii. Go to Step 5.

- For P0711
i. Decrease ATF temperature to 20°C (68°F) or below.
ii. Start the engine.
iii. Drive the vehicle under the following condition for 430 seconds or more.
- Vehicle speed (VSS PID): 60 km/h (37 mph)
iv. Go to Step 5.

- For P0715
i. Start the engine.
ii. Drive the vehicle under the following condition for 1 second or more.
- Vehicle speed (VSS PID): 41 km/h (25 mph) or above
iii. Go to Step 5.

- For P0731
i. Start the engine.
ii. Warm up the engine and ATX.
iii. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions for 15 seconds or more.
- Vehicle speed (VSS PID): Within 8 km/h (5 mph)-48 km/h (30 mph)
- Gear position: 1 OR
- TR switch position: D range (non-HOLD)
- TP sensor voltage: 1.1 V or above
iv. Repeat Step iii five times.
v. Go to Step 5.

- For P0732
i. Start the engine.
ii. Warm up the engine and ATX.
iii. Drive the vehicle under the following condition.
- Vehicle speed (VSS PID): Within 10 km/h (6 mph)-87 km/h (54 mph)
- TR switch position: D range (non-HOLD)
- Gear position: 2GR
iv. Repeat Step iii four times.
v. Go to Step 5.

- For P0733
i. Start the engine.
ii. Warm up the engine and ATX.
iii. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions for 5 seconds or more.
- Vehicle speed (VSS PID): Within 27 km/h (17 mph)-48 km/h (30 mph)
- Gear position: 3GR
- TR switch position: D range (non-HOLD)
iv. Go to Step 5.

- For P0734
i. Start the engine.
ii. Warm up the engine and ATX.
iii. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions for 15 seconds or more.
- Vehicle speed (VSS PID): Within 77 km/h (48 mph)-104 km/h (64 mph)
- Gear position: 4GR
- TR switch position: D range (non-HOLD)
iv. Go to Step 5.

- For P0740
i. Start the engine.
ii. Warm up the engine and ATX.
iii. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions for 15 seconds or more.
- Vehicle speed (VSS PID): Within 76 km/h (47 mph)-104 km/h (64 mph)
- Gear position: 4GR
- TR switch position: D range (non-HOLD)
- TCC control solenoid valve ON
iv. Go to Step 5.

- For P0745
i. Start the engine.
ii. Drive the vehicle in D range 1GR.
iii. Go to Step 5.

- For P0750, P0755, P076O, P1765
i. Start the engine.
ii. Drive the vehicle in D range and make sure that the gears shift smoothly 1 OR to 4GR.
iii. Go to Step 5.

- For P1743
i. Start the engine.
ii. Drive the vehicle in D range and make sure that the gears shift smoothly from 1 OR to 4GR and TCC is operated.
iii. Go to Step 5.
5. Gradually slow down and stop the vehicle.
6. Make sure that the repaired DTC does not recur.
