Engine - Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch: Testing and Inspection

ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE (ECT) SENSOR INSPECTION




1. Remove the ECT sensor.
2. Place the ECT sensor in water with a thermometer, and heat the water gradually.

Specification:

3. Measure the resistance between the ECT sensor terminals using an ohmmeter.
- If not as specified, replace the ECT sensor.

Tightening torque: 16 - 23 N.m {1.6 - 2.4 kgf.m, 12 - 17 ft.lbf}
