Shift Indicator - A/T: Testing and Inspection
HOLD INDICATOR LIGHT INSPECTIONInspection of Operation
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Note: The HOLD indicator light will flash if a malfunction exists in any of the EC-AT system components.
2. Verify that the HOLD indicator light is not illuminated.
3. Press the switch and verify that the HOLD indicator light illuminates.
- If the HOLD switch function is not as specified, after checking the HOLD switch, inspect the terminal voltage of the HOLD indicator light.
Inspection of Voltage
1. Remove the instrument cluster.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

3. Measure voltage between terminal 3A and a around.
Inspection of Continuity
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the instrument cluster connector.
Inspection of Continuity terminal 2Q and PCM terminal 2E(Part 1 of 2)
Inspection of Continuity terminal 2Q and PCM terminal 2E (Part 2 of 2)
3. Inspect continuity between terminal 2Q and PCM terminal 2E.
- If it is as specified, go to the next step.
- If not as specified, inspect the wiring harness (instrument cluster-powertrain control module).

Inspection of Continuity terminal 3A and 2Q (Part 2 of 2)
4. Inspect continuity between terminals 3A and 2Q.
- If not as specified, replace the instrument cluster or bulb.
5. Install the instrument cluster.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
