Throttle Position Sensor: Adjustments
CAUTION:- The TP sensor is adjusted at the factory before shipment. Unnecessary adjustment will negatively affect the engine performance.
- Adjusting the TP sensor using the throttle adjusting screw (TAS) will negatively affect the engine performance.
1. Disconnect the PCM connector.
2. Connect the SST (EMS adapter harness) between the PCM and the vehicle harness connectors.
3. Verify that the throttle valve is at the CTP.
- If not adjusted, replace the TP sensor.
4. Loosen the attaching screws.
5. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
6. Verify that PCM terminal 3B voltage is within the specification, by adjusting the throttle position sensor.
Specification
CTP: 0.1 - 1.1 V
WOT: 2.8 - 4.5 V
(Verify that the voltage increase is directly proportioned to the throttle valve opening angle.)
7. Tighten the attaching screws.
Tightening torque: 1.6 - 2.3 N.m {16 - 24 kgf.cm, 14 - 20 in.lbf}
