DTCs Reading Procedures
NOTE: This is the only information provided by the manufacturer for reading trouble codes for this system.DTCs Reading Procedure
1. Perform the necessary vehicle preparation and visual inspection.
2. Connect WDS or equivalent to the vehicle DLC 16-pin connector located the left side of the center console.
3. Retrieve DTCs by following functions:
1. Read/Clear Continuous DTCs Self-Test
NOTE:
- The first test to run is Read/Clear Continuous DTC Self-Test. Record the DTCs on a piece of paper and proceed to the KOEO Self-Test.
- The purpose of recording the continuous DTCs at this time is to make sure they are not unintentionally cleared during any KOEO or KOER service. KOEO and KOER codes are always addressed before continuous codes.
If there are DTC(s), refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code Table for further diagnosis information.
After repairs, clear DTCs using WDS or equivalent.
If there are no codes, perform KOEO Self-Test.
2. Key On Engine Off (KOEO) Self-Test
NOTE: Make sure the A/C switch is OFF during KOEO Self-Test. If the A/C switch is ON during this test, DTC P1464 will be indicated on the WDS or equivalent.
3. Key On Engine Running (KOER) Self-Test
NOTE:
- Make sure the A/C switch is OFF during KOER Self-Test. If the A/C switch is ON during this test, DTC P1464 will be indicated on the WDS or equivalent.
- The brake pedal must be depressed and released after KOER Self-Test is initiated. If not performed, DTC P1703 will be indicated on the WDS or equivalent.
- The steering wheel must be turned to the right and left after KOER Self-Test is initiated. If not performed, DTC P1650 will be indicated on the WDS or equivalent.
- The O/D OFF switch must be pushed and released after KOER Self-Test is initiated. If not performed, DTC P1780 will be indicated on the WDS or equivalent.
- Start the engine and bring up to normal operating temperature before running the KOER Self-Test.
