EGR Monitor Repair Verification Drive Cycle
NOTE:- The IAT PID must be above 10 °C {50 °F} to initiate the EGR monitor.
- After the monitoring conditions are set, system testing requires at least 30 seconds to complete.
1. Connect NGS tester to data link connector.
2. Warm vehicle up to at least an engine coolant temperature (ECT PID) of 74 °C {165 °F}.
3. Verify all accessory loads (A/C, P/S, head light, blower fan) are off.
4. Drive vehicle within 77 - 204 km/h {48 - 127 mph} and maintain a constant speed for at least 2 minutes.
5. Return to idle for at least 20 seconds.
6. Stop vehicle and access to "ON BOARD SYSTEM READINESS" menu of "GENERIC OBD II FUNCTION" to check the drive mode completion status.
- If completed, RFC changes from "NO" to "YES".
- If not completed, turn the ignition key to off then repeat Steps 3 to 6 at least one more time.
7. Access to "DIAGNOSTIC MONITORING TEST RESULTS" menu of "GENERIC OBD II FUNCTIONS" to check the monitor results. If "MEAS" are not within specification, repair has not completed.
8. Verify no DTCs are available.
