Description of On-Board Diagnostics - ABS With Traction Control
On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) Test Description- The OBD test checks the integrity and function of the ABS/TCS and outputs the test results when requested by the NGS tester. It also provides a quick end check of the ABS/TCS. It is usually performed at the start of each diagnostic procedure with all accessories off. It is also performed at the end of most troubleshooting tests for verification of repair and to make sure no other faults were incurred while servicing a previous fault.
- The OBD test is divided into three tests: Read/clear diagnostic results, PID monitor and record and active command modes.
Read/clear diagnostic results
- This function allows you to read or clear DTCs in the ABS/TCS control module memory.
PID monitor and record
- This function allows you to access certain data values, input signals, calculated values, and system status information.
Active command modes
- This function allows you to control devices through the NGS.
