Body Control Module: Testing and Inspection
CPU INSPECTION1. Remove the scuff plate, front side trim, and hood release lever.
2. Remove the joint box mounting nut.
3. Cut away the vinyl tape stuck to the floor harness.
4. Follow the appropriate procedure, referring to the terminal voltage list.
Connector A
- Remove the CPU from the joint box, then measure the voltage at the CPU terminals from the joint box side.
Connector B, C, and D (Terminals 1B, 1M, 1N, 2D, 2T, and 3A)
- Disconnect the CPU connector and check for continuity between the terminal of the CPU connector and ground.
Connector D (Terminals 3F, 3H, 3J, and 3K)
- Disconnect the CPU connector and check for continuity between the terminal of the CPU connector and the terminal 3L of the CPU connector.
Connector B, C, and D (Terminals except 1B, 1M, 1N, 2D, 2T, 3A, 3F, 3H, 3J, and 3K)
- Install the CPU onto the joint box and measure the voltage at the CPU terminals.
- When measuring the voltage at terminal 3B of connector D, use a voltmeter with sufficiently high input impedance (1M ohm or more).
5. If not as specified, inspect the parts listed under "Inspection area" and the related wiring harnesses.
6. If the parts and wiring harnesses are okay but the system still does not work properly, replace the CPU.
