Fuel Tank: Testing and Inspection

1. Remove the fuel tank.
2. Attach an air hose to the SST.
3. Plug the main and return fuel pipe on the fuel pump.




4. Set the SST to port A and plug port B as shown in the figure.
5. Verify that there is airflow from port C when pressure of +0.98 kPa {+7.4 mmHg, +0.29 inHg} is applied to port A.
If there is no airflow, replace the fuel tank.




6. Remove the plug on port B and plug port C as shown in the figure.
7. Verify that there is airflow from port B when pressure of +0.98 kPa {+7.4 mmHg, +0.29 inHg} is applied to port A.
If there is no airflow, replace the fuel tank.




8. Turn the fuel tank upside-down with port C plugged as shown in the figure.
9. Verity that there is no airflow from port B when pressure of +0.98 kPa {+7.4 mmHg, +0.29 inHg} is applied to port A.
If there is airflow, replace the fuel tank.




10. Remove the plug on port C and plug port B as shown in the figure.
11. Verify that there is no airflow from port C when pressure of +0.98 kPa {+7.4 mmHg, +0.29 inHg} is applied to port A.
If there is airflow, replace the fuel tank.
