Intake Manifold: Service and Repair

WARNING: When the engine and intake-air system are hot, they can badly burn. Turn off the engine and wait until they are cool before removing or installing the intake-air system.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the engine coolant from radiator.

WARNING:
- Fuel vapor is hazardous. It can very easily ignite, causing serious injury and damage. Always keep sparks and flames away from fuel.
- Fuel line spills and leaks are dangerous. Fuel can ignite and cause serious injuries or death and damage. Fuel can also irritate skin and eyes. To prevent this, always complete the Fuel Pressure Release Procedure.

NOTE: To remove the intake manifold, remove the fuel distributor, EGR pipe and EGR valve.




3. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
4. Install in the reverse order of removal.






NOTE: To install the intake manifold gasket, make sure that the convex side of gasket is faced to the intake manifold side.

5. Refill the engine coolant to radiator.
