Scan Tool Connection Procedure

1. Connect the SSTs (NGS) to the data link connector-2.
2. Refer to the manufacturer-provided instruction manual for the NGS operation.

NOTE
- Some DTCs are detected only when the engine is running. Before checking the DTCs, start the engine.

3. Start the engine.
4. Select "DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE" function and press trigger.
5. When "SYSTEM PASSED (NO DTCs AVAILABLE)" is displayed, all systems manifold are judged okay.
6. When any of the diagnostic trouble codes is displayed, carry out troubleshooting according to the code. (Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code Numbers.)
7. When "UNABLE TO PERFORM TEST/FUNCTION", "NOT RESPONDING/NOT EQUIPPED", "CHECK IGNITION STATUS", "VERIFY CABLE REQUIREMENTS" and "CHECK CABLE CONNECTIONS" is displayed, check connection of the NGS.
8. After all problems have been repaired, carry out "After Repair Procedure".
