Scan Tool Testing and Procedures
Inspection1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Open the driver's door.
3. Remove the ENGINE 15 A fuse.
4. Thirty seconds after completing step 1, reconnect the negative battery cable.
NOTE:
^ Perform steps 5 through 7 within 30 seconds after completing step 4.
5. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
6. Press the door switch 3 times.
7. Press the odometer/tripmeter switch 3 times.
8. Install the ENGINE 15 A fuse.
9. Press the odometer/tripmeter switch, then set the service code.
NOTE:
^ The service codes are set in numerical order only. If you make a mistake, go to step 1 and reset the input/output check mode.
^ When inspecting codes 30 and 31, turn the ignition switch to lock.
^ If service codes other than these shown below are set, the indication will remain off and it is not a malfunction.
10. Inspect each service code by following the related inspection procedures.
11. Cancel the input/output check mode by performing either of the following.
^ Turn the ignition switch to LOCK then back to ON.
^ Leave the speedometer in check mode for 45 minutes.
