Using the New Generation Star Tester

1. Cancel the diagnostic trouble code memory by using the Special Service Tools New Generation Star (NGS) tester.
2. Remove the Special Service Tools NGS from the data link connector 2.




3. Drive the vehicle at 50 km/h (31 mph), and depress the accelerator pedal fully to activate kickdown. Stop the vehicle gradually.
4. Connect the NGS to the data link connector 2 and battery.
5. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
6. Verify that no diagnostic trouble codes are displayed.
7. Remove the Special Service Tools NGS from the data link connector 2.
