Inspection of Diagnostic Trouble Codes/Condition Detection Mode
USING THE SPECIAL SERVICE TOOLS NEW GENERATION STAR TESTER1. Turn on the cruise control main switch.
2. Drive the vehicle.
3. Operate the cruise control system and verity that the deceleration, acceleration, coast, and cancel controls function by operating each of the cruise control switches.
4. Stop the vehicle and let it idle.
5. Connect the Special Service Tools (NGS set) to the data link connector and battery.
6. Set the Special Service Tools (NGS set) to AUX 2.
7. Select "VEHICLE & ENGINE SELECTION" and press TRIGGER. (Select the model and specifications of the vehicle you're testing.)
8. Select "DIAGNOSTIC DATA LINK" and press TRIGGER.
9. Select "CCM - CRUISE CONTROL MODULE" and press TRIGGER.
10. Select "DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE" and press TRIGGER.
11. Select "CRUISE CONTROL SELF TEST" and pres TRIGGER.
12. Press START
13. If normal "NO CODES RECEIVED" will then be indicated.
14. If a diagnostic trouble code is indicated, inspect the corresponding system area.
NOTE: When two or more service codes are indicated, inspect the malfunction with the smallest number first.
15. Remove the Special Service Tools (NGS set).
16. The Condition Detection Mode is canceled by turning the ignition switch to LOCK or turning off the cruise control main switch.
