With New Generation Star Tester

Inspection Procedure
1. Connect the Special Service Tool (SST) New Generation Star (NGS) tester to the data link connector 2 and battery.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
3. Check the diagnostic trouble code(s), referring to the SST NGS.
4. If a diagnostic trouble code(s) is displayed, check for the cause by using the number on the diagnostic trouble code table. (Repair as necessary.)
5. Following repairs, do the After. Repair procedure to verify that there are no remaining codes.

After-Repair Procedure




1. Cancel the diagnostic trouble code memory by using the SST NGS.
2. Remove the SST NGS from the data link connector 2.




3. Drive the vehicle at 50 km/h (31 mph), and depress the accelerator pedal fully to activate kickdown. Stop the vehicle gradually.




4. Connect the SST NGS to the data link connector 2 and battery.
5. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
6. Verify that no diagnostic trouble codes are displayed.
7. Remove the SST from the data link connector 2.
