System Operating Inspection
Determine the malfunction area by following the system operating inspection.
1. Close all the doors and windows.
2. Start the engine.
3. Warm the engine and run it at a constant 1,500 rpm.
4. Set the fan switch to the 4th position.
5. Turn the A/C switch on.
6. Set the REC/FRESH switch to recirculate.
7. Set the mode switch to VENT
8. Set the air mix lever to max. cold.
9. Install the digital thermometer in the center vent. When the reading stabilizes, compare the A/C outlet temperature to the chart temperature for a given ambient and humidity reading.
If OK, continue the inspection. If not OK, go to "flowchart No.5".
10. Set the fan switch to the 1st position.
11. Turn the A/C switch on.
12. Verify that the magnetic clutch engages and the condenser fan operates.

- If the magnetic clutch engages and the condenser fan operates at low speed with the A/C switch off, go to step 1.
- If the magnetic clutch engages and the condenser fan operates at low speed operates with the A/C switch on and fan switch off, go to step 9.
- If the condenser fan continually operates at low speed only, go to step 11.
- If the condenser fan continually operates at high speed only, go to step 12.

- If the magnetic clutch engages and the condenser fan operates with the A/C switch off, go to step 17.
- If the magnetic clutch engages and the condenser fan operates with the A/C switch on and fan switch off, go to step 25.
