On-Board Diagnostics

DESCRIPTION
The On-Board Diagnostic System is integrated within the powertrain control module. The On-Board Diagnostic System monitors the main sensor (inputs) and solenoid valve (outputs) as well as the transmission control operations for malfunctions.
Malfunctions or intermittent malfunctions are memorized in the powertrain control module to later be output as diagnostic trouble codes.




The special service tool new generation star tester (NGS) can be used to retrieve these diagnostic trouble codes.
The NGS indicates a malfunction by displaying a diagnostic trouble code.
