Starter Motor: Service and Repair

1. On models with anti-theft audio system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system deactivation procedure.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove righthand charge air cooler duct.
3. Remove battery assembly, then righthand charge air cooler.
4. Disconnect B and S terminal connectors.
5. Remove pipe bracket.
6. Remove starter bolts, then starter motor.
7. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque starter bolts to 24 - 33 ft.lb.
b. Torque pipe bracket bolts to 14 - 18 ft.lb.
c Torque righthand charge air cooler nut to 14 - 18 ft. lbs.
d. Torque righthand charge air cooler duct to 70 - 95 in.lbs.
