^ Turn the key counterclockwise and hold it there.

^ Push and hold the lock release button and move the selector lever to the "1" position.

4. On MTX Models

6. Insert the radio removal tools (SST No. 49-UN01-050) about one (1) inch into the holes in the front panel of the player.

7. Pull the radio removal tools toward the outside of the vehicle while slowly pulling the audio unit from the center console.

NOTE:
Pull the audio unit out only far enough to access the four (4) electrical connectors and the antenna cable.

8. Disconnect the electrical connectors and the antenna cable from the back of the audio unit.

^ Remove player from dash.

CAUTION:
Avoid damage to the center console.

9. Insert the CD changer removal brackets into the slots on the CD changer.

10. Unlock CD changer and remove from center console.

11. Remove the three (3) transportation screws from the upper side of the CD changer.

^ Store the three (3) screws in the small storage bag and place in the glovebox.

12. Insert the CD changer half-way into the center console opening.

NOTE:
DO NOT fully install the CD changer at this time. Due to interference with the electrical connectors and vertical reinforcement members of the dash frame, AM/FM/Cassette installation may be difficult.

13. Route the 13 pin CD changer electrical harness from above the vertical reinforcement dash-board frame to below the reinforcement.

^ Allow connector to hang at the lower center dash opening.

14. Access the three OEM audio connectors, antenna cable and the 13 pin CD changer connector from the lower center dashboard opening.

^ Connect all electrical connectors and antenna cable securely into the back of the AM/FM/Cassette player in the following order:

a) 13 pin connector from CD changer

b) Three OEM electrical connectors

c) Antenna cable

CAUTION:
Avoid scratching the switch panel during this procedure.

15. Verify all connectors are secure.

16. Insert the player into the lower side of the center dashboard until the locking tabs securely locks into the dash board.

NOTE:
When tabs are locked into position, a "click' sound will be heard.

CAUTION:
When inserting the player, the rear side wiring harness may obstruct smooth insertion. If interference occurs DO NOT FORCE the player into place. Temporarily pull the changer out and move the wiring harness on the rear of the player to the right or left by hand. Lock the player in first then insert the CD changer.

17. Install both side covers and plugs into the original positions.

18. Push the CD changer into the dash until an audible click is heard.
