Displaying & Reading Trouble Codes
Inspection Procedure
1. Connect the SST (New Generation Star Tester) to the data link connector 2 and battery.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
3. Check the diagnostic trouble code(s), referring to the SST (New Generation Star Tester) operation manual.
4. If a diagnostic trouble code(s) are displayed, check for the cause by using the table of the diagnostic trouble code number. (Repair as necessary)
5. After repairs have made, do the After-Repair procedure to verify that there are no remaining codes.
Troubleshooting
If a diagnostic trouble code is shown on the SST check for the cause by using the chart related to the code shown.
Diagnostic Trouble Code Descriptions
P0100 Through P0440:
P0443 Through P1720:
P1743 Through P1794:
After-Repair Procedure
1. Cancel the diagnostic trouble code memory by using the SST (New Generation Star Tester).
(Refer to the Instruction Manual)
2. Remove the SST (New Generation Star Tester) from the data link connector 2.
3. Drive the vehicle at 50 km/h (31 mph) and depress the accelerator pedal fully to activate kickdown. Stop the vehicle gradually.
4. Connect the SST (New Generation Star Tester) to the data link connector 2 and battery.
5. Turn the ignition switch ON.
6. Verify that no diagnostic trouble code are displayed.
