Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair


Replacement
Refer to "Adjustment" below for replacement of the transmission range sensor.

Adjustment
1. Remove the shift control rod from the manual shaft lever.
2. Move the manual shaft to the neutral position.
3. Loosen the transmission range sensor mounting bolts.




4. Align the holes of the transmission range sensor and the manual shaft lever by inserting a pin with an outer diameter of approx. 4.0 mm (0.157 in).




5. Tighten the transmission range sensor mounting bolts and remove the pin.

Tightening Torque: 2.5-3.9 Nm (22-34 in.lb.)




6. Recheck the continuity of the transmission range sensor.
7. If not correct replace the transmission range sensor.
8. Install the selector rod to the manual shaft lever.
