Overdrive Indicator Lamp: Testing and Inspection

INSPECTION
Inspection of Operation
1 Turn the ignition switch from OFF to ON.

Note: The O/D OFF indicator light will flash if a malfunction exists in any of the EC-AT system components.




2. Verify that the O/D OFF indicator light is not illuminated.
3. Depress the switch and verify that the O/D OFF indicator illuminates.

Note: If a malfunction occurs in any of the EC-AT system components, the O/D OFF indicator light flashes.

4. If the O/D OFF switch function is not as specified, after checking the O/D OFF switch check the terminal voltage of the O/D OFF indicator light.

Inspection of Voltage
1. Remove the instrument cluster.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON.







3. Measure voltage between terminal 2G and a ground.

Inspection of Continuity
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the instrument cluster connector.




3. Check continuity between terminal 1N and transaxle control module 1B terminal.

Terminals Continuity
1N-1B Yes

4. If not correct, check the wiring harness (instrument cluster-transaxle control module).
5. If correct, go to the next step.




6. Check continuity between terminals 2G and 1N.

Terminals Continuity
2G-1N Yes

7. If not correct, replace the instrument cluster or bulb.
8. Install the instrument cluster.
9. Connect the negative battery cable.
