Idle-Speed Control System

SYSTEM TEST



BAC/AIR VALVE
1. Verify that the engine coolant temperature is below 20°C (68°F)
2. Connect the SST to the data link connector.
3. Set switch [A] to position 1 and the test switch to SELF TEST.
4. Start the engine.
5. Verify that the idle speed decreases gradually as the engine warms up.





BAC/IDLE-AIR CONTROL VALVE
1. Connect the SST to the data link connector.
2. Set switch [A] to position 1 and the test switch to SELF TEST.
3. Verify that the idle speed is within specification.
4. Disconnect the idle air control valve connector with the test switch SELF TEST.
5. If the engine speed decreases, replace the BAC valve.
6. Perform the after-repair procedure.
