With Manual Transaxle

PURPOSE
Illuminates brake lights and signals the engine control module (ECM) when brakes are applied.

OPERATION
When the service brake is applied, the brake switch sends a signal to the ECM in addition to illuminating the brake lights. The ECM reads this signal as a deceleration indicator and uses it to regulate its output signals accordingly.
