With Automatic Transaxle

PURPOSE
Illuminates brake lights and signals the engine control module (ECM) and the transaxle control module (TCM) when brakes are applied.

OPERATION
When the service brake is applied, the brake switch sends a signal to the ECM and the TCM in addition to illuminating the brake lights. Both control modules read this signal as a deceleration indicator and use it to regulate their output signals accordingly.
