With Automatic Transaxle

Circuit Diagram:

OVERVIEW
[1][2]Vehicle speed sensor input terminals 2I & 3G:
- Receive an alternating current signal from the transaxle mounted vehicle speedometer sensor.
- Input terminals are located on the instrument cluster.

[1][2]Vehicle speed sensor output terminal 2D & ground terminal 2A:
- Forwards the vehicle speed related signal to other control modules in the vehicle.

INPUT SIGNAL
- Remove the instrument cluster.
- Connect a suitable voltmeter to [1][2]vehicle speed sensor input terminals 2I (R/L wire) and 3G (GY wire).
- Set the voltmeter to the 5 Volt A/C range.
- Using the voltmeter check the [1][2]vehicle speed sensor input signal from the vehicle speedometer sensor.

Specification: [1]
- 0.0 Volts--NG.
- Other than 0.0 Volts--OK.

OUTPUT SIGNAL
- Connect the positive lead of a voltmeter to [1][2]vehicle speed sensor output terminal 2D (V/R wire).
- Connect the negative lead of the voltmeter to ground.
- Check the [1][2]vehicle speed sensor output signal under the following conditions.

Voltage VS Conditions:
3.0 - 4.0 Volts -- While driving.
0.0 or 6.0 - 8.0 Volts -- With vehicle stopped.

- Replace the [1][2]vehicle speed sensor if input signal is OK but output signal is NG.
- If the input signal is NG. Check the vehicle speedometer sensor and related wiring.

REMARKS
[1] Voltage readings taken with both front wheels slowly rotating simultaneously.
