Fuel Transfer Pump (Models W/4WD Only)

Removing Rear Seat Cushion:

1. Depress the buttons under the front of the rear seat and remove the rear seat cushion.

Checking Continuity Through Transfer Pump:

2. Disconnect tank unit connector and check continuity through pump, as shown in diagram.

^ Should have continuity.

If not, check for continuity in wiring between connector and pump, and between pump and ground connection. If wiring and ground connections are OK, replace pump.

Checking Transfer Pump Directly:

Another way to check tansfer pump operation, is to apply battery power and ground to the terminals of the tank unit connector, as shown in the illustration.

^ Pump should run. If not, check for continuity in wiring between connector and pump, and between pump and ground connection. If wiring and ground connections are OK, replace pump.
