Fuel Pump Ballast Resistor Relay: Testing and Inspection

Fuel Pump Resistor Relay Testing:

1. Remove air cleaner and air flow meter if necessary to access relay.
2. Unplug relay connector and check resistance across terminals as follows:

TERMINALS RESISTANCE (OHMS)

a - b ... 0 ohms
c - d ... 60 - 92 ohms
e - f ... 0.70 - 0.94 ohms

If not as specified, replace resistor relay.

3. Connect power to relay terminal "c" and ground relay terminal "d", to energize relay.

^ Resistance between terminals "a" and "b" should go to infinity (no continuity) when relay is energized. If not, replace resistor relay.
