Removal

NOTICE: Whenever turbocharger air intake system components are removed, always cover open ports to protect from debris. It is important that no foreign material enter the system. The turbocharger vanes are susceptible to damage from even small particles. All components should be inspected and cleaned, if necessary, prior to installation or reassembly.

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.

2. Remove the 4 retainers and the underbody shield.





3. Drain the cooling system.

4. Working from below disconnect the LH CAC tube from the CAC adapter.

5. Remove the lower bolt from the CAC adapter.

6. Detach the lower radiator hose retainer from the cooling fan and shroud.

7. Disconnect the lower radiator hose from the radiator.

8. Remove the Air Cleaner (ACL) assembly and ACL outlet pipe.

9. Remove the RH CAC.

10. Remove the upper bolt and the CAC adapter.
- Inspect and install a new CAC adapter gasket, if necessary.

11. Disconnect the crankcase vent tube quick connect coupling and remove the crankcase vent tube.

12. Disconnect and remove the lower radiator hose from the thermostat housing.

13. Detach the hood release cable retainer from the shroud.

14. If equipped, detach the block heater wiring harness retainers from the engine wiring harness.

15. Detach all the wiring harness retainers from the cooling fan and shroud and radiator grille support.

16. Disconnect the cooling fan motor electrical connector.

17. Disconnect the LH Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) electrical connector.
- Detach the HO2S connector retainer from the bracket.

18. Remove the 2 bolts and the cooling fan motor and shroud.

Installation

1. Install the cooling fan motor and shroud and the 2 bolts.
- Tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).

2. Connect the LH Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) electrical connector.
- Attach the HO2S connector retainer to the bracket.

3. Connect the cooling fan motor electrical connector.

4. Attach all the wiring harness retainers to the cooling fan and shroud and radiator grille support.

5. If equipped, attach the block heater wiring harness retainers to the engine wiring harness.

6. Attach the hood release cable retainer to the shroud.

7. Install and connect the lower radiator to the thermostat housing.

8. Install the crankcase vent tube quick connect coupling.

9. Install the gasket, the CAC adapter and the upper bolt.
- Do not tighten the bolt at this time.

10. Install the lower bolt for the CAC adapter.
- Tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).

11. Tighten the upper CAC adapter bolt.
- Tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).

12. NOTE: Align the marks for the RH CAC tube.

Install the RH CAC tube.

- Tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).

13. Install the ACL outlet pipe and ACL assembly.

14. Connect the lower radiator hose to the radiator.

15. Attach the lower radiator hose retainer to the cooling fan and shroud.

16. NOTE: Align the marks for the LH CAC tube.

Connect the LH CAC tube to the CAC adapter.

- Tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).

17. Fill and bleed the cooling system.

18. Install the underbody shield and the 4 retainers.
