Removal and Installation
WARNING: Never probe the electrical connectors on safety belt buckle/retractor pretensioners or adaptive load limiting retractors. Failure to follow this instruction may result in the accidental deployment of the safety belt pretensioners or adaptive load limiting retractors, which increases the risk of serious personal injury or death.
All seat tracks
1. Remove the affected seat.
Driver seat track only
2. Disconnect the safety belt buckle switch electrical connector.
3. NOTE: At installation, make sure the safety belt buckle is accessible to the occupant.
Remove the nut and the safety belt buckle.
- To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
Passenger seat track only
4. NOTE: At installation, make sure the safety belt buckle is accessible to the occupant.
Remove the safety belt buckle with belt tension sensor (BTS).
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the nut and safety belt buckle with BTS.
- To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
All seat tracks
5. Release the rear outboard cushion J-clips.
6. Release the cushion trim cover rear J-clip.
7. Release the cushion trim cover rear hook-and-loop strip.
8. Detach the electrical connector.
Driver seat track
9. Disconnect the seat position sensor electrical connector.
Power seat tracks
10. Remove the 2 recliner-to-seat track bolts.
- To install, tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).
Manual seat tracks
11. Remove the 2 recliner-to-seat track bolts.
- To install, tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).
All seat tracks
12. Remove the pivot bolt.
- To install, tighten to 45 Nm (33 lb-ft).
13. Remove the 4 seat track-to-cushion frame bolts.
- To install, tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).
14. Remove the seat track and disconnect any electrical connectors still attached.
15. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
16. Install the affected seat.
