Removal and Installation
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. Release the fuel system pressure.
3. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
4. Remove the left front wheel well rear splash shield.
5. CAUTION: The engine appearance cover is equipped with a noise suppressor. If the noise suppressor becomes separated from the engine appearance cover it must be positioned on the intake manifold prior to installing the engine appearance cover.
Remove the engine appearance cover and the noise suppressor (if detached).
6. Disconnect the fuel hose safety clip and spring lock coupling from the fuel rail.
7. Disconnect the 2 vapor tube quick connect couplings from the evaporative canister purge valve.
8. Remove the 2 fuel tube mounting bolts.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
9. Disconnect the vapor tube quick connect couplings from the fuel vapor tube.
10. Disconnect the fuel tube quick connect and spring lock couplings from both sides of the fuel filter.
11. Remove the fuel filter bracket mounting bolt, fuel filter bracket and the fuel filter.
- To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).
12. Remove the 2 fuel tube shield mounting bolts.
- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
13. Remove the fuel tube shield pin-type retainer.
14. Remove the 3 fuel tube shield nuts and the fuel tube shield.
- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
15. Disconnect the fuel tube quick connect coupling from the fuel tank supply tube.
16. Disconnect the vapor tube quick connect couplings from the fuel vapor control tube assembly valve.
17. Remove the 4 fuel tube mounting bolts and the fuel tube assembly.
- To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).
18. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
