Test A: Both Headlamps Are Inoperative
PINPOINT TEST A: BOTH HEADLAMPS ARE INOPERATIVEA1-A4:
Normal Operation
The instrument cluster monitors the headlamp switch position by sending out voltage reference signals to the headlamp switch. If a problem is detected with circuit 8-LE21 (WH/GN) (low beam signal), circuit 10-LE21 (GY/OG) (headlamps off signal) or circuit 9-LE29 (BN/GN) (the signal return) from the headlamp switch, the instrument cluster defaults the headlamps and parking lamps on. When the headlamp switch is in the HEADLAMPS ON position, the instrument cluster sends a bussed message signal to the front electronic module (FEM) to illuminate the headlamps.
Possible Causes
- Headlamp switch
- FEM
- Instrument cluster
