Exhaust Manifold - RH:





Removal
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Maintenance/Service and Repair.
2. Remove the catalytic converters. For additional information, refer to Catalytic Converter.
3. Remove the fresh air inlet duct. For additional information, refer to Heating and Air Conditioning.
4. Remove the 2 EGR tube flange nuts.
5. Remove the starter motor. For additional information, refer to Starting System.





6. Remove the screws and the lower RH splash shield.
7. Remove the 4 bolts and the heat shield.
8. Remove the 8 nuts and the exhaust manifold.
9. Remove the heat shield stud bolt.
^ Discard the exhaust manifold and EGR tube gaskets.
10. Remove the 8 exhaust manifold studs and discard.
11. Clean and inspect the exhaust manifold.

Installation
1. Install the 8 new exhaust manifold studs.
^ Tighten to 19 Nm (14 ft. lbs.).
2. Position the new exhaust manifold gasket and install the heat shield stud bolt.
^ Tighten to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).





3. Position the exhaust manifold and the new EGR tube gasket.
^ Install the 8 new exhaust manifold nuts hand-tight.
^ Install the EGR tube nuts and tighten to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
^ Tighten the 8 nuts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.) in the sequence shown.
4. Install the heat shield and 4 bolts.
^ Tighten to 3 Nm (27 inch lbs.).





5. Install the lower RH splash shield and screws.
6. Install the starter motor. For additional information, refer to Starting System.
7. Install the fresh air inlet duct. For additional information, refer to Heating and Air Conditioning.
8. Install the catalytic converters. For additional information, refer to Catalytic Converter.
