Pinpoint Test I: DTCs C1987/C1988: Yellow Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) Fault Warning Indicator Short To Battery/Circuit Failure

Normal Operation
The yellow electronic parking brake (EPB) system warning indicator (in the EPB switch) illuminates for 3 seconds at prove-out when the ignition switch is cycled to RUN, and illuminates continuously, even with the ignition switch OFF, when the EPB module has detected a fault in the system and DTCs are present.

Possible Causes
^ EPB module
^ EPB switch
^ Central junction box (CJB) fuse 7 (5A)
^ Circuit 75-CG14 (YE/GN) open
^ Circuit 31S-CG14 (BK/GN) open, short to voltage, or short to ground
