Wiper and Washer Systems: Service and Repair

WINDSHIELD WIPER

REMOVAL

1. CAUTION: The windshield wiper system has an auto park feature. It is necessary to disconnect the battery.

Disconnect the battery ground cable.

2. Partially drain the engine cooling system.
3. Remove the cowl panel grille.







4. Remove in the order indicated in the table.

Item 4: Degas Bottle Removal Note







1. Disconnect the degas return hose from the degas return tube.

2. NOTE: When positioning the degas bottle aside it will be necessary to reroute the degas bottle lower hose in front of the brake booster.

Position the degas bottle aside.

Item 8: Wiper Motor Bolts Removal Note







1. Position the windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft assembly aside, and loosen the upper windshield wiper motor bolt.
2. Remove the windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft assembly.
3. Rotate wiper output arm to the six o'clock position.

4. NOTE: To remove the lower wiper motor bolts it is necessary to rotate the bottom of the windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft assembly upward.

Remove the two lower wiper motor bolts.

Item 9: Mounting Arm And Pivot Shaft Assembly Removal Note
1. Remove the mounting arm and pivot shaft assembly.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
