Removal
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position on a hoist.

Item 9: Center Crossmember Bolts Removal Note
1. Loosen the center crossmember bolts.

Item 10: LH Engine Mount Removal Note
1. Raise the engine and lower the center crossmember to remove the LH engine mount.
2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
3. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
4. Release the fuel system pressure.
5. Drain the engine cooling system.
6. Discharge the A/C system.
7. Remove the clean air inlet duct.
8. Remove the drive shaft.
9. Remove the exhaust system.
10. Remove the RH and LH inner fender splash shields.
11. Remove the front splash shield.
12. Remove the RH and LH subframe splash shields.

Item 18: Fuel Hose Removal Note





1. Remove the clip.





2. Install the special tool.





3. Close the special tool and push it into the open side of the cage.





4. Separate the fitting and remove the special tool.

Item 48: Torque Converter Nuts Removal
1. Make sure to mark the torque converter-to-flywheel location.

Item 56: Power Steering Hose Removal Note





1. Remove the power steering hose bracket bolt.

Item 58: Anti-lock Brake Sensor Harness Removal Note





1. Unclip the anti-lock brake harness from the brake hose.

Item 60: Brake Caliper Removal Note
1. Position and secure the brake caliper aside.

Item 62: Upper Ball Joint Nut Removal Note





1. NOTE: Hold the external hex when removing the ball joint nuts to prevent damage to the ball joint.

Remove the nut and separate the ball joint from the spindle.

Item 65: Anti-lock Brake Sensor Harness Removal Note





1. Unclip the anti-lock brake harness from the brake hose.

Item 67: Brake Caliper Removal Note
1. Position and secure the brake caliper aside.

Item 69: Upper Ball Joint Nut Removal Note





1. NOTE: Hold the external hex when removing the ball joint nuts to prevent damage to the ball joint. Remove the nut and separate the ball joint from the spindle.

Item 71: Transmission Crossmember Bolts Removal Note





1. Support the engine, transmission, front and center crossmembers, and the cooling system with a powertrain lift and transmission support bracket.

Item 77: Front Crossmember Bolts Removal Note
1. Carefully lower the engine, transmission, front and center crossmembers, and the cooling system from the vehicle.





2. Install the special tool to the engine.





3. Install the special tool to the engine.

Items 78 and 80: Power Steering Pump and Bolts Removal Note
1. Drain the power steering pump into a suitable container.

Item 99: Transmission Mounting Bolts Removal Note





1. Using the special tool and an engine crane, remove the engine from the subframe assembly.
