Oil Pan: Service and Repair
Oil PanRemoval
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Drain the engine oil.
3. Remove the oil pan.
- Inspect the gasket and install a new one if necessary.
Installation
NOTE: Make sure all gasket sealing surfaces are clean and dry.
1. Install the oil pan. Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown in two stages.
- Stage 1: Tighten to 5 Nm (44 inch lbs.).
- Stage 2: Tighten to 12 Nm (9 ft. lbs.).
2. Lower the vehicle.
3. Fill the crankcase with clean engine oil.
