Inspection and Verification (Start Testing Here)

1. Verify the customer concern by operating the windshield wiper and washer system to duplicate the condition.

NOTE: The Lighting Control Module (LCM) must be reconfigured upon replacement. Refer to the New Generation STAR (NGS) Tester help screen on the configuration card to program the Headlamps on with wipers, Daytime Running Lamps (DRL), Korean vehicle strategy.

2. Visually inspect for the obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage; refer to the following chart.

^ Wiper blade missing or damaged
^ Binding wiper pivot arm
^ Binding wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft
^ Empty washer reservoir
^ Kinked or broken washer hoses

Electrical
^ Fuse
^ Wiper motor
^ Washer pump
^ Open connectors
^ Corroded connectors
^ Multi-function switch
^ Circuit

3. If the concern is not visually evident, determine the symptom and proceed to Symptom Chart.
