Fuel Pressure Sensor: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
WARNING: DO NOT SMOKE, CARRY LIGHTED TOBACCO OR OPEN FLAME OF ANY TYPE WHEN WORKING ON OR NEAR ANY FUEL-RELATED COMPONENT.
HIGHLY FLAMMABLE MIXTURES ARE ALWAYS PRESENT AND MAY BE IGNITED, RESULTING IN POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY.
2. Release the fuel pressure.
NOTE: This step is required only if the fuel pressure sensor and the fuel injection supply manifold are installed on the engine.
3. Remove the vacuum line at the fuel pressure sensor.
4. Disconnect the electrical connection at the fuel pressure sensor.
5. Remove the fuel pressure sensor.
- Remove the screws.
- Remove the fuel pressure sensor.
6. Inspect the O-rings. Replace as required.
INSTALLATION
1. Clean the sealing surfaces of the fuel pressure sensor and the fuel injection supply manifold.
CAUTION: Never use silicone grease. Silicone grease will clot the fuel injector. Lubricate O-rings with clean engine oil meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-G.
2. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
