Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Partially drain the coolant.







3. Disconnect the engine control sensor wiring from the Engine Coolant Temperature sensor (ECT sensor).







4. Remove the engine coolant temperature sensor.







INSTALLATION

NOTE: If the engine coolant temperature sensor is reused, apply pipe sealant with Teflon(R) meeting Ford specification WSK-M2G350-A2 and ESR-M18P7-A to the threads.

1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
