Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

1. Verify the customer concern by operating the vehicle along roads of known direction to duplicate the customer concern with the compass.
2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage:

Mechanical
^ Physical damage to compass module
^ Loose compass sensor module

Electrical
^ Loose or corroded connector
^ Fuse
^ Circuitry

3. If the fault is not visually evident, verify the symptom and proceed to Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
