Installation









1. Install a Spreader Bar Set.
2. Support the engine with a Spreader Bar Set and a suitable floor crane.





3. Remove the engine from the work stand.





4. Install the flywheel.
5. Position the engine to the transaxle.





6. Install the RH engine support insulator bracket.





7. Install the bolts.





8. Install the bolts.





9. Install the two bolts.





10. Install the bolts.





11. Connect the RH engine support insulator.





12. Connect the engine control sensor wiring to the internal transmission wiring harness connector.





13. Connect the engine control sensor wiring to the digital Transmission Sensor (TR).





14. Connect the engine control sensor wiring to the turbine shaft speed sensor.





15. Connect the power steering return hose to the steering gear.





16. Connect the engine control sensor wiring to the steering gear.
17. Position the engine, transaxle and sub-frame as an assembly on the Powertrain Lift.
18. Remove the engine lifting equipment.
19. Raise and position the engine, transaxle and sub-frame assembly in the engine compartment.





20. Install the four bolts.





21. Install the front sub-frame brackets.
22. Remove the Powertrain Lift and Universal Powertrain Removal Bracket.





23. Install the four nuts.





24. Install the torque converter shield.





25. Connect the engine control sensor wiring to the starter motor.





26. Connect the water bypass hose.





27. Connect the lower radiator hose.
28. Connect the A/C compressor lines.





29. Connect the power steering cooler line.





30. Connect the block heater wiring.
31. Install the dual converter Y pipe.
32. Install the lower radiator air deflector.





33. Partially lower the vehicle.
34. Install the RH and LH half shafts into the front wheel knuckle.
35. Install the RH and LH front axle wheel hub retainers.
36. Install the RH and LH tie rod ends to the front wheel knuckles.
37. Connect the RH and LH front suspension lower arms to the front wheel knuckles.
38. Install the RH and LH front stabilizer bar link.
39. Connect the RH and LH height sensor links.
40. Install the front wheel and tire assemblies.
41. Lower the vehicle.





42. Connect the generator wiring harness.





43. Connect the power steering return hose.





44. Connect the upper radiator hose.





45. Connect the heater water hose to the RH cylinder head.





46. Connect the heater water hose to the water bypass tube.





47. Install the oil level dipstick.








48. Connect the transaxle cooler tubes.
- Connect the transaxle cooler outlet tube.
- Connect the fluid cooler inlet tube.





49. Connect the vapor management line.





50. Position the main engine compartment wiring harness in the bracket. Install the bolt.





51. Connect the engine control sensor wiring to the three main engine compartment wiring harnesses.





52. Connect the manual control cable to the IMRC actuator.





53. Connect the accelerator cable and the speed control actuator cable to the accelerator cable bracket.





54. Install the accelerator cable snow shield.
55. Connect the engine control sensor wiring to the traction control motor and Throttle Position Sensor (TP sensor).





56. Connect the engine control sensor wiring to the Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF sensor).





57. Connect the engine control sensor wiring to the main engine wiring harness.
58. Install the engine control sensor wiring connector to the accelerator cable snow shield.





59. Connect the engine control sensor wiring to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).





60. Connect the dash panel ground straps.





61. Connect the chassis vacuum supply hose.
62. Connect the fuel tube.





63. Install the upper motor mount.
64. Install the air cleaner outlet tube.





65. Connect the engine control sensor wiring to the Intake Air Temperature Sensor (IAT sensor).





66. Connect the crankcase ventilation tube to the air cleaner outlet tube.
67. Connect the steering column to the steering gear.
- Position the steering column coupler on the steering gear.
- Install the pinch bolt.

68. Install the LH dash close out panel.
- Connect the courtesy lamp.
- Position the dash close out panel.
- Install the three pushpins.

69. Connect the battery ground cable.
70. Fill the engine with clean engine oil meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-G.
71. Fill and bleed the cooling system.
72. Fill and bleed the power steering system.
73. Charge the A/C system.
74. Start and run the engine. Inspect for leaks.
