Brake Switch (Cruise Control): Description and Operation

Brake Pedal Position Switch
The Brake Pedal Position (BPP) switch is used to deactivate the speed control system. The speed control servo monitors the BPP switch from the Lighting Control Module (LCM) through the Standard Corporate Protocol (SCP) network communications link.

Deactivator Switch
The deactivator switch is a redundant safety device. The deactivator switch provides power to the speed control servo until the brake pedal is firmly depressed. When the brake pedal is firmly depressed, power is removed from the speed control servo deactivating the speed control system.
