Anti-Theft Alarm System

NOTE: The system immediately monitors the ignition switch lock cylinder upon removal of the key from the ignition switch lock cylinder. It is not necessary to arm the system for ignition switch lock cylinder monitoring.

The anti-theft system:
^ activates visual and audio alarms and disables the engine if a violation of the locked vehicle occurs.
^ is managed by the lighting control module.
^ provides two forms of security: perimeter protection and vehicle protection.
- Perimeter protection is protection against unauthorized vehicle entry.
- Vehicle protection is protection against tampering with the ignition system.
^ powers-up in an unarmed and untriggered state.

The anti-theft system operates as follows:
^ A violation of security of either the perimeter or vehicle protection system will sound the horn, flash the headlamps, parking lamps and courtesy lamps and disable the starting system.
^ When armed, the anti-theft alarm system detects unauthorized entry into the passenger compartment by door open warning lamp switches (located in the passenger compartment door pillars).
^ The anti-theft alarm system protects the engine compartment by utilizing a hood anti-theft control switch (located on the RH front fender aprox.).
^ The anti-theft alarm system protects the luggage compartment by utilizing an anti-theft switch, located on the luggage compartment door lock cylinder.
^ Triggers an alarm if the ignition switch lock cylinder is forcibly removed from the steering column lock cylinder housing.

Components
The system is composed of the following components:
^ alarm indicator lamp in LH indicator panel
^ RH door lock cylinder switch and LH door lock cylinder switch
^ hood anti-theft control bracket and switch
^ luggage compartment door lock cylinder switch
^ ignition cylinder tamper switch

The following components already exist in the vehicle and are used in the anti-theft alarm system:
^ front door lock switch
^ door open warning lamp switch
^ relay
^ horn relay and bracket and horns
^ low beam headlamps
^ rear lamps
^ parking lamps
^ starter relay
^ driver door module
^ lighting control module
