REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
1. Using a suitable tool, push the accelerator cable nylon bushing out of the accelerator pedal and shaft arm.
2. Remove accelerator cable housing from dash panel by removing two retaining screws and pushing outward from inside passenger compartment.
3. Remove speed control actuator cable, if equipped.
4. Disconnect the accelerator cable at the throttle body throttle lever by inserting a screwdriver between the accelerator cable and throttle lever and giving a twist.
5. Remove the accelerator cable housing to engine mounting bracket retaining screw.

WARNING: No surrounding engine compartment components such as wiring or hoses may contact any moving member of the accelerator controls. All vehicles are to be checked for return to idle as follows: No perceptible hesitation or prevention of return to idle may occur during slow removal of the foot from the accelerator pedal and shafts starting at the fully depressed wide open throttle position.

6. To install, reverse removal procedure and make sure accelerator cable movement is not restricted. Tighten accelerator cable to engine mounting bracket screw to 5.2-7.2 Nm (46-64 lb in). Tighten accelerator cable to dash panel screws to 3.1-4.5 Nm (27-40 lb in).
