GAUGES - FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT READ FULL AND/OR EMPTY - VEHICLES BUILT THROUGH 3/1/95
LINCOLN-MERCURY:
1993-95 MARK VIII
ISSUE:
The fuel gauge and message center may not read full and/or empty when the tank is full or empty on some vehicles. This may be caused by interference between the fuel tank reservoir and the gauge sender float arm due to flexing (maximum 1/2") of the fuel tank and/or the calibration of the message center module.
ACTION:
Replace the fuel tank and sender unit with a revised tank and sender to eliminate the interference or replace the message center module. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.
