Removal and Installation

Throttle Body Assembly:

REMOVAL

1. Remove air cleaner outlet tube.

2. Remove accelerator cable shield retaining screws and accelerator cable shield.

3. Disconnect throttle position sensor and traction assist assembly (if equipped) at connector and accelerator cable at the throttle lever.

4. Remove crankcase ventilation tube from throttle body vacuum port.

5. Remove four throttle body retaining bolts.

6. Carefully separate throttle body from intake manifold.

7. Remove and discard throttle body gasket between throttle body and intake manifold.

INSTALLATION

1. Clean gasket mating surfaces.

NOTE: If scraping is necessary, do not damage gasket surfaces or allow material to drop into manifold.

2. Install throttle body, new throttle body gasket and the retaining bolts to the intake manifold. Tighten retaining bolts to 8.0-10 Nm (6-7 lb ft), then rotate an additional 85-95 degrees.

3. Reinstall crankcase ventilation tube to throttle body vacuum port.

4. Connect throttle position sensor and traction assist assembly (if equipped) at connector and accelerator cable to the throttle lever.

5. Install accelerator cable shield. Tighten retaining screws securely.

6. Install air cleaner outlet tube.
